Hails & Farewells
We’d like to give our heartfelt thanks and HUGE SHOUT OUT to Max Harper as he passes the leadership torch of Impact Hub DC to Beth Flores. Long before we moved into this beautiful new space, someone had to imagine it, then be gutsy enough to bring it into this world. That person was Max Harper who took the first step in this journey over four years ago with the support of a lot of people. But don’t fret – you’ll certainly see Max around the Hub as he models what it means to be a SUPER MEMBER and continues to support Impact Hub DC as a member of the DC Advisory Board.
Attempting to fill Max’s shoes is Beth Flores, who joins Impact Hub DC as Managing Director following 9 years at the Pentagon where she advised the Secretary on a range of national security issues and more recently, launched a new office focused on innovation and leadership development. In late 2013, Beth left the Pentagon to pursue her deepening interest in leadership development and organizational change. She became a certified executive coach and founded Groove Leadership Lab, a company that helps changemakers achieve their personal and professional potential. Through her company, she’s had the opportunity to work with social entrepreneurs around the world as well as innovative philanthropic organizations such as The Omidyar Group. But if you really want to get her talking, ask her about her rescued beagle mix named Ruby.
We are happy that Max will continue on with us, even if in a different capacity. Our brightest moments are still ahead and we’re eager for the journey with Beth at the helm.
